GAMEPLAY
A full pack of cards consisting of 52 cards from Two to Ace is used to play GIN.
The card seniority is from King to Ace. There is no trump suit.
In the first dealing the dealer is selected at random.
Players are dealt 10 cards each. The 21st card remains face up. It starts the face-up pile. The other cards are in a face-down pile called the stock.
The game starts with collecting a card from one of the piles and leading any card from in-hand onto the face-up pile.
The dealer is allowed to collect the face-up card in the first move only. If he or she resigns (clicks pass), the opponent is allowed to collect it. However, if both players pass, the dealer's opponent performs a move and collects a card from the face-down pile. If one of the players collects a face-up card and drops another one, the opponent performs a move.

The game objective is to set the cards in hand into the proper sets so that there are as few unset cards left as possible.
There are two kinds of card sets - groups of ranks and sequences combined in such a way that there are as few cards left unset as possible.
Each card can belong to the group or a sequence.
To facilitate playing, the system marks the sets in hand.

Players collect and exchange cards until one of them "knocks", i.e. declares finishing the game. The player who has knocked drops one of his or her cards onto the face-up pile and presents the sets to the other player.
A player can "knock" having collected the card from the pile but only if the sum of the value of the unset cards (which do not fit any sets) does not exceed 10. The set of cards in which the sum of the unset card value equals 0 is called "gin".
The moment that a player has the cards in hand which let him or her "knock", the command "knock" appears next to "drop a card".

Card value:
Even if the number of points of the player's unset cards is smaller than 10, he or she does not need to "knock"; he or she can exchange cards until he or she gets a better result.
After the "knocking" player has presented the cards, the opponent does so. If the "knocking" player has not "gone gin",
the opponent is allowed to add his or her unset cards to groups of cards of the same rank or sequences of the player who has "knocked".
Thus, for example, if there is a sequence of King
,
Queen
and
Jack
, and the opponent can complete it with the
unset Ten
, if he or she has it.
It also refers to the groups of cards of the same rank.
In case of GIN, i.e. the lay-off with no unset cards, the opponent is not allowed to add any cards in hand matching the "knocking" player's sets.

If a player is supposed to collect a card and there are only two cards left in the face-down pile, the game is stopped and there is another dealing.
SCORING
If the "knocking" player has scored fewer points than the sum of points of the opponent's unset cards after the lay-off, the difference is scored to his or her advantage.

If the opponent, after the lay-off, has the sum of unset cards points equal or smaller than the "knocking" player, a bonus of 20 pts is scored by him or her.
If the "knocking" player has "gone gin", i.e. all the ten cards in complete sets, he or she, scores the sum of the opponent's unset cards points as well as the bonus of 25 points. In this case, the opponent is not allowed to add any unset cards to the sets laid-off.

GAME OVER
The game is over when one of the players scores or exceeds the number of points selected at the game start, i.e. 100, 200 or 500 pts. The point limit is selected in the settings before the game starts (the precise description in Options).
GIN OKLAHOMA
It is possible to select the game variant named Oklahoma ("Gin Oklahoma") in the settings, which is different in the following rules.

Other rules remain unchanged.
