301, 501, 701, 1001 parchesis
It is a darts version which is relatively easy to master, although a little bit more complicated than 301, 501, 701, and 1001. It is played according to simple rules, which let the beginners concentrate on the throw and learn accuracy and self-control.
Players throw 3 darts in each turn. If while setting the table the time limit game option was selected, each player has specific time to perform a throw. If the time limit is exceeded, a player misses the turn. At the beginning the game starts with 0 points for each player.
A player is supposed to hit the numbers which, having summed the points up, score the pre-specified number of points, x01 (301, 401, 501, 601 or 1001). The winner is the player who scores the specified number of points first. Winning is determined by the accuracy of the throw.
The inner narrow board ring counts for three times the number hit, the outer narrow board ring counts twice the number hit. Thus, the highest number of points to be scored with three darts is 180 by hitting three triple 20's.
When the number of player's point approaches the pre-specified limit, players must assume some strategy to get out of the game; they must hit the numbers which let them score the desired number of points.
There is also so called killing in the game. It happens when one of the players having performed a throw scores the number of points equal to the number of points the opponent has. In this case the opponent's points are zeroed.
Players try to score the pre-specified number of points. After each turn their number of points increases. For example, if one of the players has 100 points and the opponent has 80 points, and in the next turn the player has scored 10 points, which has increased his score to 110 points, the opponent must score exactly 30 points to kill the player, regardless the 30 points were scored with one dart, two or three darts. Killing is when the opponent's overall point number equals the player's score in any moment of that turn.
The double out rule applies in the game, which means that the last dart must hit the outer ring section of the number (x2). If the player violates that rule, the game is not over and the points are scored in the following way:
In any of the above-mentioned cases the move is stopped and the players alternate. A player loses the game when they cause one of the above-mentioned situations five times.
Players continue playing until one of them scores the pre-specified number of points.
The game is also finished at the turn limit end. The turn limit varies depending on the number of points specified at the beginning of a game. It is 20 turns for 301; 30 turns for 501; 40 turns for 701; and 50 turns for 1001.
If none of the players scores the pre-specified number of points, and the turn limit ends, there are the following possibilities:
Shoot-off
During a shoot-off each player throws one dart and tries to hit the bull's eye. The player who hits the board closer to the center wins.
