GAMEPLAY

The game is played with a 24-card pack, from Nine to Ace. The suits do not matter in PAN.

The first dealer is selected at random, another ones clockwise.

All cards are dealt to the players. The game is started by the player who has the 9 in hand and leading it opens the pile. If the player has 4 Nines in hand, they can be led simultaneously.

Successive players are allowed to play a card equal or higher than the previous one (if the first player played the 9 , another one - any other 9, the third one 10, then the successive player can play a 10 or a card of a higher value, but not 9).

The player can play one card or exactly four of the rank, i.e. four Jacks, four Queens. It also refers to the player starting the round. He or she can play all the four Nines instead of the 9 . But the 9 is always at the bottom of the pile. There is also the exception when it is possible to play three cards: if there is only 9 on the pile, the other three 9s can be played a the time.

If a player cannot or does not want to play any card, he or she collects three cards from the pile. If there are fewer than three cards to be collected on the pile (excluding 9 ), the player takes them all leaving only 9 . Having collected the cards, the turn is passed to another player.

The game objective is to play all the cards in hand as soon as possible. The last player to be left with the cards in hand is assigned the letter P.

If he or she is left with the cards again, he or she gets the letters A and N.

The game is played until one of the players loses three dealings and gets the three successive letters receiving the nickname PAN.

The game can be insoluble if no one gets a letter then; if the last player can play all the cards at the time it is his or her turn to offer cards.

There is the game variant where the sequence of playing the card can be reversed to the previous player; it happens the moment that a card of spades is played. The game version is called the "reversed spades". Then, the option is to be marked in settings before starting the game and confirmed by refreshing the settings at the server.
