BASICS
It is an extremely popular in Germany three-people card game which has been known since the 19th century. In Poland it is particularly popular in Silesia. It was created by the members of Tarok-Gesellschaft, who reworked the rules of the existing local game Schafkopf and completed it with a few characteristics of the games Tarok and 'Hombre. The standardized game rules were established at the First Skat Congress in August 1886 in Altenburg. There is also the "Skat Court" (DSKV), which solves the player's arguments from all over the world and establishes the game rules (http://www.dskv.de). Altenburg has been called the city of Skat and there is even a fountain honoring the game.
