General Rules

The Board

The board consists of the 5x5 grid of cells where the computer places letters. Up to four players can compete in the game simultaneously. Having started the game, the computer draws 25 letters and places them at random on the board. Point bonuses are placed at the diagonal crossing of the lines joining the letters. The bonus values depend on the neighboring letters and they are equal to the bonus value of the letter of the highest value. The bonus values of the letters are the following.

In each turn a player's task is to find at least a two-letter word combined with neighboring letters. Starting with any letter, a player connects it with a neighboring letter, but cannot combine a word with the same letter used twice and the line cannot cross itself. A player scores one point for each letter included in the word. Extra points can be scored by joining letters diagonally as bonus points between them are scored.

There are 30 turns in a game. In each turn a player can combine a word or pass. They can also change the letters on he board randomly by selecting the "Sort" option (key F3). A player can use the option three times during the game. The number of turns left for the game to be over is displayed under the letter board.

The moment a player completes the word, the "OK" option is selected (or the F2 key is pressed). The opponent(s) can accept it or check it with a dictionary. It is done by selecting the "Accept" or "Check" option. The options are also accessible on the keyboard: "Accept" - key F2, "Check" - key F3. If all the opponents select the "Accept" option, the combined word will be used regardless its presence in the dictionary. If one of the opponents selects the "Check" option and the word is not included in the dictionary, the player does not score points. If within 10 seconds after the "OK" button was pressed all the opponents do not select the "Accept" option, the word is checked with a dictionary automatically as if the "Check" option was selected.

If a word is included in the dictionary, or it is accepted by the opponent, the letters it covers are replaced with new ones by the computer.

Undoing a move

The player who has combined a word and selected the "OK" option is still allowed to select the "Undo" option (key F2) within 10 seconds. Then, each opponent can decide whether to agree to undo the latest move or not. If all the opponents agree, the player who has asked to undo the move can perform the move again.

Changing the letters placement on the board at random

Each player can use the "Sort" option (key F3) which changes the letters on the board at random. A player is allowed to use the "Sort" option three times during the game only.

Pass

Each player is allowed to resign from performing a move by selecting the "Pass" option (key F4). Nevertheless, if all the players pass twice during two successive turns, the game is over. If the move time limit is switched on in the game and a player has failed to combine a word and to select the "OK" option on time, the move is regarded as passed.

Legitimate words

The words which are permitted are included in the relevant language dictionaries, the correct grammar forms inclusive. Proper nouns, abbreviations, prefixes, suffixes and the words with an apostrophe or a hyphen are excluded. The lists of legitimate words are in the word game dictionary included in our service.

Game is over when:

the turn limit is over;

all the players pass twice in two successive turns;

all the players exceed the game time limit.

The winner is the player who has scored the most points.
