トゥイションツ 2004 ルール

GAMEPLAY

Thousand is played with a pack consisting of 24 cards from Ace to Nine.

The value and seniority of cards:

Ace - 11 pts.
Ten - 10 pts.
King - 4 pts.
Queen - 3pts.
Jack - 2 pts.
Nine - 0 pts.

The seniority of colors:

Hearts
Diamonds
Clubs
Spades
And also a changing trump color, which is established while playing the game by declaring a Marriage (while declaring - the oldest).

Apart from the points scored from summing up the value of the cards in the collected tricks (a set of cards offered by all players, i.e. 2 or 3 - depending on the number of players), there are also Marriages (a couple consisting of a King and a Queen of the same color), which are declared automatically by offering the Queen or the King of the color. The points scored for that are equal to the value of the Marriage.

Hearts     -   100 pkt.
Diamonds     -   80 pkt.
Clubs     -   60 pkt.
Spades     -   40 pkt.

Each player is obliged to offer a card of the suit, the older one. If he does not have a card of the suit offered by the opponent, he is obliged to offer a trump card; if a trump color has been established (the information about it appears as the color symbol is in the left top corner) or he offers a card of any other color. The moment the Marriage is declared, its color becomes a trump, i.e. a superior one.

Declaring a new Marriage changes the trump color into the one of a new Marriage.

In case of 2 people playing, each player is dealt 10 cards. If there are 3 people playing, players are dealt 7 cards each. The rest of cards (in case of a two-people game - 4 cards, in case of a three-people one - 3 cards) are so-called musts. In a two-people game there are 2 talons containing 2 cards each on both sides of the table (the player who wins the game chooses one of them); in a three-people game there is one talon containing 3 cards.

The game is started by a person sitting on the left of the dealer following by the players clockwise.

The game objective is scoring 1000 pts as soon as possible

BIDDING

Bidding always starts with 100 pts (the co-called must). A successive player can choose between two options: he can pass, which means accepting the opponent's playing minimum the original 100, or raise the bet.

Bidding by the multiple of +10 pts is allowed. It is the declaration of points the player is going to score in the dealing. The value of bidding cannot exceed the sum of all cards (120 pts.) and the Marriages owned at the time of bidding. The player who has won the bidding takes one of the talons from the table, shows the cards to the other player and then puts the two selected cards on the table. At this moment he can raise the declared number of points. After that the actual game stars. In case of a three-people game bidding is similar. The first player automatically declares 100 pts. (a must) and then the other player's bidding may follow. The players are dealt 7 cards and there is a talon of 3 cards on the table. The player who has won the bidding takes it, shows it to the other players and gives each player one card from in-hand. Then the actual game starts.

GAMEPLAY

The player who has won the bidding starts the game. It is about offering cards and combining them in tricks and putting them on the table (2 or 3 cards, one from each player). The trick is taken by the player whose card is the oldest. It is obligatory to offer a card of the suit the opponent has offered and beating it with an older one of the suit. Unless a Marriage has been declared, in case of the lack of a card of the suit matching the card offered, any card is to be offered. But if a trump suit has been established (by declaring a Marriage), the player beats with any trump card. When all the players get rid of all the cards in-hand the game is over and the scored points are calculated. The player who has won the bid can score maximum as many points as he declared having won the bidding. But if he has not scored the declared number of points, he scores the negative number of points that he declared. The other players score as many points as they have scored from the tricks collected and the Marriages declared while playing. The sum of points is always rounded up to 10s (if the number ending is more than 5, it is rounded up; if the number ending is less than 5 - down).

GAME OVER

The player who scores or exceeds the sum of 1000 points wins. Nevertheless, when a player exceeds the sum of 800 pts, only the points scored for the games in which he was bidding are scored.
