How to start the game?

How to start the game?

To begin playing the game, either click on the Play Now button above or look below and select the room that you wish to play in. The game room will open in a new window.

If you have never played the game before, you will be asked to install the game. Instructions on how this is done will appear on this page.

Once the game window opens, there are three ways to start the game.

  • The simplest way is to press QuickStart! and wait for the game to automatically find you an opponent. This is likely to be the fastest option, as the game starts as soon as another player with QuickStart! is found.
  • The second option is to find an available table from the list of open tables, and click Join.
  • If you would like to customize the game preferences, you can create a new table by clicking on the Create Table button located in the control panel box.

When the new table is created and you have a partner ready to play, click on Start and wait for your partner's confirmation.

How to play Snooker

How to play Snooker
  • Click on the white cue ball to begin a shot. During the break, you may first click and drag the cue to change its position on the table.
  • Click the cue stick and, while holding, drag it around to aim at the white cue ball.
  • Find the cue stick in the control panel box. Click and drag it down to determine the strength of the shot. The farther down you pull the control panel cue stick, the more powerful your shot.
  • Right click anywhere in the game window. This causes the cue stick to hit the cue ball.

Learning snooker is easy. Thousands of people have learned to play snooker at Gamedesire.com.

The point of snooker, like pool, is for two players to take turns hitting the balls into the pockets using the cue ball and the cue stick.

In snooker, there are 15 solid red balls, 6 colored balls, and 1 white cue ball on the table. For the break, the cue ball must contact a red ball first. After the break, players must pocket first any red ball, then any colored ball, then any red ball, then any colored ball, and so on, until all the balls on the table have been pocketed. After a red ball is pocketed, it stays in the pocket. But after a colored ball is pocketed, it is then automatically removed from the pocket and put back on the table. After all the reds on the table have been pocketed, the colored balls are no longer put back on the table when pocketed. The colored balls must now be pocketed in order according to their point value. When all the remaining colored balls have been pocketed, the game is over.

Throughout the entire game, players earn points for pocketing balls. The player that earns the most points wins. The balls have different point values. Reds-1, Yellow- 2, Green-3, Brown-4, Blue-5, Pink-6, Black-7.

Here's a sample snooker game:

  • Player breaks the balls.
  • Player pockets a red ball.
  • Player pockets the blue ball.
  • The blue ball is then removed from the pocket and put back on the table.
  • Player pockets a red ball.
  • Player pockets the yellow ball.
  • The yellow ball is then removed from the pocket and put back on the table.
This continues until all the red balls have been pocketed.

Now that all the red balls are pocketed, colored balls are no longer put back on the table. The colored balls must now be pocketed in the correct order, based on ascending point value.

The game would continue like this:

  • Player pockets the yellow ball.
  • Player pockets the green ball.
  • Player pockets the brown ball.
This continues until all colored balls have been pocketed. The game is now finished.
