ARE THEY SERIOUS?

I really think political correctness has ran amuck to the point of being detremental.   A friend of mine read an article to me.   Apparently police officers were greeting children and giving them high fives on their way to school.   Apparently some people had objections to this because they are concerned children of color, undocumented kids or kids that may have had a bad experience with the police may upset by seeing the police.    To that I say if the kids are afraid of police WHY ARE THEY AFRAID OF THEM?   and the best way to get over a fear of it is to face the fear.   The police are making an effort to get closer to the community and to build a good relationship with the children.   By greeting the kids and giving them high fives it should be telling the kids they are doing something good and to keep up the good work.  This is nothing to be frightened about.   Let me say something about the "undocumented people"   IF YOU ARE IN THIS COUNTRY ILLEGALLY AND THE SIGHT OF POLICE ENCOURAGING GOOD RELATIONS WITH KIDS UPSETS YOU GO BACK WHERE YOU CAME FROM AND YOU WILL NOT NEED TO SEE IT.     I have nothing against people that are in this country legally those that went through proper channels to get here.   This country was built on ingredients, but NO WAY SHOULD WE ALLOW PEOPLE THAT ARE NOT HERE LEGALLY DICTATE TO ANY OF US THAT ARE HERE THE RIGHT WAY, AND THAT INCLUDES THE POLICE.
Now if there are legal  kids that have had a bad experience with police such as seeing their parents get arrested that by all means I think we should get these kids some counseling to help them understand that if you obey the laws you have nothing to fear from the police and the police can help you if you are in danger.
SERIOUSLY WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS COUNTRY?   We are turning into a bunch of cry babies and people that cave to every dissenting  opinion.
What happened to the America that was strong and stood up for what we knew was right no matter what popular opinion said?     This country needs to build a stronger relationship with the police and just maybe there would be less crime.   I think the police officers who were greeting and high fiving the kids were making a good effort at it.  Now it is time for the citizens to meet them half way.     WHY IN THE WORLD WOULD WE WANT TO TEACH THE KIDS TO BE AFRAID OF THE POLICE?  Acting like there is something wrong with what these officers was doing is stupid, and I am so tired of political correctness overshadowing good sense.
Seems like every time I turn around someone is whining about something not being politically correct.   I say this to my fellow citizens  GROW UP!  WISE UP! AND SHUT UP ABOUT ALL THIS POLITICAL CORRECT CRAP.   We need to stop fighting among ourselves and start taking care of each other.  Those of us that are here legally need to band together instead of trying to separated into a bunch of little groups fighting against each other.   DOES ANYONE REMEMBER THE DAYS THIS COUNTRY STOOD AS ONE NATION AGAINST EVERYONE THAT STEPPED TO US?   Has it ever occurred to you that these people that are always complaining about one thing or another not being right because it is not politically correct may in fact be doing it to weaken this country.    We need to wake up and get along with each other, and stop trying to impede  those that are trying to make things better.   SO IN CONCLUSION I SAY TO THAT POLICE FORCE THAT WAS TRYING TO MAKE A CONNECTION WITH THE KIDS BEFORE THE WHINERS STOPPED THEM.  IT WAS A GOOD IDEA AND THANK YOU FOR TRYING OFFICERS.   Kids need to know the police are your friends.
I am sure there will be those of you that will immediately point out the people that were killed by the police, but I really think before you do you should get all the facts.   Most of the people that died at the hands of the police were in the process of or had already committed crimes and were resisting arrest.    I am sure many of them were adversarial to the police when they were kids, and I just wonder how many of them would have turned out differently if some officers had made and effort to show them the police were their friends when they were kids.
