New games - installation problems


Game installers


In case of problems with installing new games, please use in the first place stand alone installers, available here: http://www.gamedesire.com/la-pl,dd-4,n-32.html


Repetitive game installation


Internet Explorer


Please enter menu "Tools" -> "Internet options" -> "Programs" -> "Manage add-ons". Next in menu "Show" pick: "Downloaded Active X controls". Please check if "GameDesire ..." and "GanymedeNet Games Detector" add-ons are enabled. Next in menu "Show" pick: "Downloaded Active X". Please check if "GameDesire..." is enabled.


Mozilla Firefox


Please enter menu "Tools"->"Add-ons"->"Plugins" and check if GanymedeNet.Detector is enabled. 


Aplication unknown critical error


Sometimes there are problems with compatibility of our games with internet camera's software, especially Logitech brand. Removing Logitech software will allow using games.


No pictures in games


Solution for this problem is to create new administrator account in your operating system.


Click "Start" -> "Settings" -> "Control panel" -> "Users accounts", pick option "Create new account" and enter new user name. Then click "Next", mark "Administrator account" and click "Create account". Reboot your computer and during login again use newly created account.


Error nr 5


Please enter to directory where our application was installed. Default is: C:Program Files/Ganymede. You will find there billiards_uninstall.exe file. Execute it and this way you will uninstall games. After this operation delete all remaining files in this directory.


Next open "My computer", at the top from menu pick "Tools"->"Folder options"->"View"; mark option "Show hidden files and directories", accept your choice by clicking "OK".


On drive C: open directory "Documents and Settings", then open directory named after your user name in operation system, open "Application data" and delete directory "GanymedeNet".


In next step reboot your computer. When you login, install games again. 


Error nr 24/29 


Many problems with games are caused by internet network problems.


First of all unblock ports 6000-6050, 22 and 7000. Our servers are located in USA, which means, that even if your country webpages are working properly, there might be some problems with accessing our games. In most cases, internet routes between countries and atlantic data routes are overloaded. Exact place where problem exist can be checked using WinMTR software.

You will see on your screen similar window: http://winmtr.sourceforge.net/main.jpg


In line Host put: gamedesire.com
and click Start.


Software will check quality of your internet connection at the moment, it might take few minutes. Please send result to: gdhelp@ganymede.eu
